Jhavon Kornegay, LMSW
Jhavon is a culturally competent, empathetic and non-judgmental therapist. She can instill hope while also aiding in the development of the knowledge and tools to become more self-confident and emotionally balanced. Jhavon believes that your past is not a forecast for your future. Her wide array of experience ranges from work with children and adolescents living with developmental delays to treating adults with serious and persistent mental illnesses and chronic medical conditions. Jhavon has assisted patients with anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, and trauma or stressor-related disorders improve their overall well-being. She has focused her clinical training in areas such as motivational interviewing, harm reduction, cognitive behavioral therapy, and trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy. Jhavon is well versed in the theory of intersectionality and has a passionate clinical focus in working with members of vulnerable populations. She holds a master's degree from the Touro College Graduate School of Social Work and is currently working towards becoming a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional.
