Samuel Barton, LMSW
Sam is a graduate of Columbia University, where he earned his Master of Science in Social Work. Sam understands that humans are complex beings, and thus, his approach utilizes a diverse therapeutic toolkit and draws from eclectic influences during psychotherapy. He applies his clinical training in harm-reduction, CBT, and DBT in working with individuals affected by trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, and severe mental illness. He is especially interested in how these issues present uniquely in the LGBTQ population. Sam draws upon his experience in research and clinical experience to create a person-centered, humanistic therapy experience that allows clients to feel empowered and effective in managing stress.
